In keeping with the annual tradition, our educational institution hosted the ceremonial evening “AYU FEST – 2025”, dedicated to welcoming first-year students.

The main goal of the event was to introduce students to university life and traditions, as well as to help them adapt to their new environment.

It is worth noting that in the 2025–2026 academic year, around 2,500 young applicants became students of Ahmet Yassawi University.

The festive evening opened with a stage performance titled “Abai”, dedicated to the great poet of the Kazakh people. Excerpts from “The Words of Edification” - part of the great enlightener’s teachings on the “Integral Personality” - were recited from the stage. Afterwards, the student choir performed the song “Közimnin qarası”, giving the audience bright and unforgettable impressions.

The celebration continued with a faculty parade, during which each faculty presented its achievements, potential, and showcased creative performances.

The ceremonial evening was opened by the university’s rector, Zhanar Temirbekova, who congratulated the students on the beginning of the new academic year and an important milestone in their lives, saying:

“Dear guests, colleagues, and beloved students! As you know, our university hosts many important events of academic, scientific, and socio-cultural significance. Among them, tonight’s celebration holds a special place. Dear freshmen, welcome to our alma mater — to the big Yassawi family! This university was founded through the cooperation of two nations. Our university is a center where all Turkic peoples come together. I wish you to receive a high-quality education here and to become true professionals in your fields!”

In his speech, Deputy Rector Naci Genç emphasized to the youth the importance of combining education and culture:

“The freshmen welcome evening is very important for us. Dear students, it is thanks to you that the university exists. Each student holds special value for our institution! You are not only bearers of knowledge but also representatives of the culture and spiritual heritage of the Turkic states. I wish you success on your path of science and education!”

Following the congratulatory speeches, the university administration presented students with the “Key of Knowledge” and student ID cards. Special recognition was also given to world champions who bring honor to the country and the university in the field of sports. Winners of international competitions received cash awards and gifts on behalf of the university.

After that, a ceremony of the freshmen’s oath took place. The students solemnly pledged to receive a quality education and to become highly qualified professionals in the future.

The festive evening continued with a concert program, during which students showcased their talents. Active and creative students performed songs and dances. The “Dostyq” (“Friendship”) dance, presented by students from various Turkic countries studying at the university, received a particularly warm response from the audience.

The star guest of the evening, Yenlik, delighted the audience with her melodic songs, creating a joyful and festive atmosphere.

The traditional event, held annually in an atmosphere of joy and hospitality, concluded with words of gratitude from the freshmen to the university leadership and the organizers.
