OUR UNIVERSITY TEAM WINS THE INTERNATIONAL CASPIAN HACKATHON

Our university team won the international Caspian Hackathon held in Aktau. Residents of the YASAWI STARTUP program under the Commercialization Office represented the Turkistan Region and were recognized as the best among 80 teams from eight countries.

The main purpose of the competition was to promote the development of modern technological and digital solutions aimed at preserving the ecosystem of the Caspian Sea, addressing pressing environmental issues, and advancing innovative approaches in the environmental and oil and gas sectors.

It should be noted that nearly 200 participants presented their projects at the hackathon. Following the technical selection stage, 30 teams advanced to the finals and presented their projects to the jury.

The participants proposed innovative digital solutions in the areas of environmental monitoring in the Caspian region, data analysis, conservation of natural resources, and prevention of environmental risks.

Our university’s Kyzyl Zhebe team won the competition with its Caspian Intelligence project and received a prize of KZT 3,000,000.

The project is designed to automate and digitalize processes related to the Caspian Sea. As part of the project, specialized artificial intelligence-based algorithms have been developed to collect and analyze information related to the maritime sector and generate relevant recommendations based on the data obtained.

Caspian Intelligence is not limited to a single area; rather, it is designed as a digital ecosystem integrating several sectors related to the Caspian Sea. The platform enables port specialists, inspection officers, law enforcement agencies, and administrative authorities to access essential analytical information.

In addition, the project aims to improve coordination between ports, enhance maritime safety, and automate various processes related to the Caspian Sea.

A key feature of the project is its ability to consolidate diverse data within a single system, analyze it, and provide relevant specialists and authorities with accurate and timely information.

The Kyzyl Zhebe team includes Abylaikhan Tastanbekov, Coordinator of the Scientific Developments Commercialization Sector of the Commercialization Office; Yerdaulet Toibekov, Startup Resident; Yeleusiz Aslan, Specialist of the Department of Information Technology; as well as this year’s graduates Nurym Myrzakhmet and Islam Abdulakhadov.

Thus, our university’s specialists and graduates actively participated in the hackathon and contributed to the development and implementation of the project. We would also like to express our special gratitude to Yerbolat Balgabayev, Head of the Department of Economic Investigations for the Turkistan Region, for supporting our university’s talented young innovators and providing opportunities for the further development of their projects.

We congratulate the team members on their victory in the international competition and wish them every success in their future projects!
