INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM: RECTOR MEETS WITH INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Rector of our university Zhanar Temirbekova met with international students who arrived to undertake practical training at the Clinical and Diagnostic Center as part of an international professional exchange program.
The meeting was attended by four students from Latvia, Türkiye, Italy, and Romania. They are spending one month in Turkistan gaining professional experience through SCOPE (Professional Exchange Program) organized by IFMSA/KazMSA.
The international students include Julia Gene, a sixth-year student at Riga Stradiņš University; Laluna Klasika Doki, a second-year student at the Faculty of Medicine of Dicle University; Chiara Franzini, a fourth-year student at Humanitas University in Milan; and Ramona-Elena Ibanescu, a third-year student at the Iuliu Hațieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
During the meeting, the Rector became acquainted with the participants of the international professional exchange program. In an open discussion with the Rector, the international students spoke about the educational process at the university, their clinical training, and opportunities to participate in international conferences.
Rector Zhanar Temirbekova emphasized the importance of international exchange programs in enhancing the professional competence of future doctors. She also wished the students success and presented them with commemorative gifts on behalf of the university.
It should be noted that our university is increasingly becoming a platform for professional exchange and practical training for international students.
In particular, cooperation within the IFMSA/KazMSA international professional exchange program is being successfully implemented. In July 2026, four international interns completed their professional training at the university. In August, another four students are continuing their medical education exchange experience at our clinic.
The program makes a significant contribution to the development of intercultural cooperation between countries. During their one-month internship, international students have the opportunity to learn about the culture of Kazakhstan, gain knowledge and practical experience from highly qualified medical professionals, and further develop their professional skills.
