TRIP TO ITALY: TWO UNIVERSITY TEAMS ADVANCE TO THE FINAL OF AN INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS

Two research projects developed by teams of students from the Department of Physics were recognized as the best at the ITECX – Fibonacci International Congress on Engineering, Technology and Mathematics, held in Astana. As a result, both teams qualified for the international final to be held in Italy.

During the congress, the students presented their scientific ideas, engineering solutions and practical products to an international panel of experts, demonstrating the scientific and practical significance of their projects.

The first team, comprising Berik Kaldar, Tanat Nassen, Shukur Abduzhapparov and Zafar Baltabayev, presented a research project entitled “Microstructure, Phase Composition and Tribological Properties of Coatings Produced Using the HVOF Method.” The students were supervised by Kazhymukan Kelesbayev, PhD.

The second team, comprising Bakbergen Shukirbay, Bibarys Yermekuly, Bekarys Tuleutayev, Alisher Suleimanov and Maksat Saidazim, defended a research project entitled “Development and Effectiveness Evaluation of STEM Products Based on Arduino and Artificial Intelligence.” The team was mentored by Sherzod Ramankulov, PhD, Acting Professor.

The experts highly praised our students’ work and awarded both teams places in the final. In November, the winning teams will represent the University and Kazakhstan by presenting their research projects at the international final in Rome, Italy.

This achievement is the result of the University’s systematic efforts to support student research, advance STEM education, and develop students’ research and engineering competencies.

Furthermore, these projects are closely aligned with research conducted under scientific projects funded by the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

We congratulate our young researchers and their academic supervisors on this remarkable achievement and wish them every success at the international final in Italy!
