OXFORD UNIVERSITY STUDENTS TOUR OUR UNIVERSITY
As part of the Kazakh Language Programme, students visiting from the University of Oxford toured our University.
They first met with the Rector’s Representative, Peyami Battal, who spoke with the international students and asked about their impressions of Turkistan. He also wished them every success and presented them with commemorative gifts.
Following the meeting, the guests visited the museum at the Cultural Centre, where they learned about the history and spiritual heritage of the Turkic world and viewed the museum’s historical artefacts with great interest.
The Oxford students also visited the Faculty of Art, Media and Design. During the tour, they observed the work carried out in the Faculty’s workshops and learned about various creative activities, including textile production, traditional felt and tekemet making, reed mat weaving, and painting.
Alongside studying the Kazakh language, the programme participants explored the University’s cultural and creative environment and broadened their knowledge of Kazakhstan’s history, art and traditions.
