THE TRAINING PROGRAM “ACADEMIC LEADERSHIP” HAS BEGUN
Our university has resumed the “Academic Leadership” training program.
The main goal of the program is to develop a culture of academic leadership, improve management styles, and strengthen trust and cooperation within the university community.
Every Tuesday, meetings are held on the first floor of the library in the format of a corporate breakfast. These sessions aim to enhance professional development and strengthen team interaction among deans, department heads and directors of research institutes, deputy deans, and heads of departments.
Today’s session was conducted by the Rector of the university, Zhanar Temirbekova. The event brought together deans of faculties, heads of departments, directors of research institutes, and heads of academic chairs.
In her address, the speaker provided a comprehensive overview of the concept of “leadership” in modern society, emphasizing its importance in the field of education and its role in building trust within the team. She also highlighted that true leadership lies not in one’s position, but in one’s cultural mission.
During the training, participants engaged in a group exercise titled “Choosing a Leader”, where they analyzed various academic situations and completed tasks designed to develop a culture of trust and fair decision-making skills. Each group selected its own leader and presented team-based solutions.
At the end of the session, during the reflection activity “If I Were a Leader…”, participants shared their thoughts on the role and responsibilities of a leader.
Summing up the meeting, Rector Zhanar Temirbekova noted that such training sessions make a significant contribution to building corporate culture, sharing experience, and strengthening collaboration within the team. The program will continue in the future.
