Achievments

The Department of History successfully passed specialized international accreditation for its educational programs: 6B01615 – History and 7M02210 – History in 2020, 6B02231 – History in 2021, and 8D01604 – History in 2022.

Since the 2021–2022 academic year, the department has been implementing dual education programs. For this purpose, an agreement was signed with M. Abenova Secondary School, and leading history teachers are involved in the educational process.

The faculty members of the department actively participate in the educational, scientific, social, and community life of the university. They have achieved significant success in organizing the educational process and developing research activities. The publication activity of the faculty is increasing every year, contributing to the overall development of educational programs.

  • Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Kh.M. Tursun completed an internship at the Institute of Russian History of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Russian Federation) from March 2 to March 17, 2019.
  • PhD, Associate Professor K. Bazarbayev completed a scientific internship within the Erasmus+ program at Cumhuriyet University (Sivas, Turkey) from July 26 to July 30, 2021.
  • PhD, Associate Professor K. Bazarbayev delivered a two-week lecture course at Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University (Niğde, Turkey) under the “Orkhun” program from March 31 to April 15, 2022.
  •  PhD, Associate Professor K. Bazarbayev was on a research visit to Ankara (Turkey) from November 16 to November 24, 2023, within the framework of grant project AP19676634.
  •  PhD, Associate Professor K. Bazarbayev was also on a research visit to Baku (Azerbaijan) from January 23 to January 31, 2024, under the same project.
  •  PhD, Associate Professor S.B. Syzdykov completed an academic mobility internship at Ege University (Izmir, Turkey) from November 16 to November 31, 2023.
  •  PhD, Associate Professor S.B. Syzdykov is a recipient of the scholarship for young scientists awarded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Order No. 216 dated December 28, 2022).
  •  PhD, Associate Professor S.B. Syzdykov was awarded the title “Best University Teacher – 2023” (December 28, 2023).
  •  Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor G.O. Nurbetova is a recipient of the Presidential international scholarship “Bolashak” and completed an academic internship at Akdeniz University (Antalya, Turkey) from February 1 to December 25, 2022.
  •  In 2013, Abbasov Nursultan, a student of group TTA-111 (6B01615 – History program), became a prize winner (2nd place) of the Republican scientific-theoretical student conference (supervisor: PhD, Associate Professor M. Salgarayev).
  • From November 9 to November 15, 2023, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor G.T. Zhorayeva completed an international course “Leadership Theory” (72 hours) in Istanbul, Turkey.
  •  In 2020, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor G.T. Zhorayeva was awarded a state scholarship (Order No. 542).
  • In 2023–2024, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor G.T. Zhorayeva completed an internship at Akdeniz University (Faculty of Letters, Department of History) and the “AKUZEM” Distance Education Center in Antalya, Turkey, under the “500 Scientists” project of the Bolashak program.

Awards and acknowledgments of the faculty:

  • In 2021, Professor Kh.M. Tursun was awarded the medal “30 Years of Independence.”
  •  In 2022, he received a Letter of Appreciation from the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
  • In 2023, he was awarded a Letter of Appreciation from the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, for his contribution to research on the rehabilitation of victims of political repression.
  •  PhD, Associate Professor K. Bazarbayev received letters of appreciation from the Foundation of the First President (2019), the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2020), and the university rector (2021).
  • In 2016, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor G.O. Nurbetova was awarded the commemorative badge “Yasawi – 850 Years.”
  • In 2023, she was awarded a 30th anniversary commemorative badge of the university.
  •  In 2022, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor G.T. Zhorayeva was awarded a commemorative badge for the 30th anniversary of the university and several letters of appreciation.
  •  In 2023, she received a letter of appreciation from the Department of Education of Turkestan Region.
  •  In 2024, PhD, Associate Professor B. Syzdykov and M. Gursoy completed a research exchange at Hacı Bayram Veli University (Ankara, Turkey).
  • In 2024, under the supervision of B. Syzdykov, students were awarded a 3rd degree diploma at the Republican student olympiad in “Archaeology and Ethnology.”
  •  In 2025, Associate Professors Z. Adilbekova and G.O. Nurbetova completed an academic exchange at Akdeniz University.
  • In 2025, A.N. Jumadullayeva, M. Jolsseitova, and E. Zulpikharova were awarded Letters of Appreciation from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
  •  In 2025, A.N. Jumadullayeva received a Letter of Appreciation from the “Public Accord” institution of Turkestan Region.
  • In 2025, A.N. Jumadullayeva and G.T. Zhorayeva received Letters of Appreciation from the “Amanat” Party.
  •  In 2025, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor G.O. Nurbetova received a Letter of Appreciation from the university rector.
  •  In 2026, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor G.T. Zhorayeva was awarded by the Akim of Turkestan city on the occasion of International Women’s Day (March 8).
  •  In March 2026, under the supervision of PhD, Senior Lecturer M. Salgarayev, student Kulakhmedova Asel was awarded the title “Best Student of Central Asia.”
  • In 2026, student Beisenbay Zhannur became the winner (1st degree diploma) of the international competition “Best Student of the CIS” under the supervision of G.T. Zhorayeva.
  •  In March 2026, Kulakhmedova Asel was again recognized as “Best Student of Central Asia.”
