The Department of Internal Medicine is one of the leading departments that lays the foundation for future physicians' clinical reasoning and professional skills. The department aims to provide students with deep, high-quality education across key medical disciplines while developing their clinical judgment and practical expertise. By effectively integrating modern pedagogical technologies, interactive learning methods, and advanced clinical diagnostic and treatment protocols into the educational process, the department seamlessly bridges theoretical knowledge with practical application. The Department of Internal Medicine is headed by Master's degree holder, Lecturer Sarviniso Islamovna Ibragimova. For the 2026–2027 academic year, the faculty comprises 3 Doctors of Science, 6 Candidates of Science, 3 Senior Lecturers (Master's degree holders), 1 Lecturer (Master's degree holder), 5 Senior Lecturers, and 2 Lecturers.
The faculty of the Department of Internal Medicine focuses on fostering clinical mindset among students, instilling core professional competencies required for future medical practice, and inspiring an interest in medical research.
In accordance with the curriculum of educational programs, classes are conducted in various clinical disciplines. Students in their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years receive advanced clinical knowledge and hands-on training in internal medicine, cardiology, pulmonology and phthisiology, endocrinology, infectious diseases, pediatrics, pharmacology, and introduction to medical practice.
