Special Clinical Subjects

The Department of Special Clinical Disciplines is a multidisciplinary academic unit integrating education, clinical training and research. In the 2026–2027 academic year, the Department has 29 faculty members.

The Department offers courses in psychiatry, neurology, narcology, allergology, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, dermatology, clinical biochemistry, outpatient therapy, clinical pharmacology, pre-medical first aid and applied research methods. It also provides the “Emergency Physician Assistant” internship.

A 2023–2025 grant-funded research project led by Professor Gulnaz Orazbekkyzy Nuskabayeva was successfully completed, and one doctoral student defended their dissertation within the project. Professor G.O. Nuskabayeva was named “Best University Teacher” and awarded the academic title of Professor. Head of the Department Karlygash Zharlykassynkyzy Sadykova was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor.

The Department is currently implementing the 2025–2027 project AP26102763 “The Influence of Genetic Markers, Immune Status and Mineral Metabolism on the Dental Health of Patients with Metabolic Syndrome,” led by K.Zh. Sadykova.

Between 2024 and 2027, 11 faculty members were admitted to doctoral programmes in Medicine and Public Health. Doctoral students and their supervisors have published more than 20 research articles in national and international journals, including Scopus-indexed publications. Faculty members have also obtained two patents and published five educational manuals.

The Department remains committed to advancing educational quality, strengthening research and preparing competitive healthcare professionals for national and international practice.
