About us

The Department of Fundamental Sciences is one of the departments responsible for providing students with high-quality education in fundamental disciplines that form the basis of medical education, developing their scientific outlook and professional competencies, and involving them in research activities. The Department effectively applies modern educational technologies and scientific research methods in the educational process, ensuring the theoretical and practical training of future medical professionals.

The Head of the Department is Kumisai S. Babaeva, Candidate of Medical Sciences (PhD equivalent).

In the 2026–2027 academic year, the Department of Fundamental Sciences employs 4 Doctors of Science, 8 Candidates of Science, 1 PhD, 7 senior lecturers, and 3 lecturers holding a Master’s degree.

The academic staff of the Department carries out educational, methodological, and research activities aimed at developing students’ fundamental medical knowledge, research skills, and competencies required for their future professional practice.

In accordance with the curricula of the educational programs, the Department provides instruction in fundamental and basic medical disciplines. In particular, students acquire knowledge in Medical Biology, Genetics, Biophysics, Anatomy, Physiology, Histology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and other fundamental disciplines.
