Erasmus+ is the EU Programme in the fields of education, training, youth and sport for the 2021-2027 period. Education, training, youth and sport are key areas that support citizens in their personal and professional development. High quality, inclusive education and training, as well as informal and non-formal learning, ultimately equip young people and participants of all ages with the qualifications and skills needed for their meaningful participation in democratic society, intercultural understanding and the successful transition to the labour market.
Erasmus+ offers four main opportunities for higher education institutions and individuals:
1) International academic mobility
Short-term study or internship in Europe, resulting in recalculation of academic credits.
Duration
From 3 to 12 months.
2) Financial support
Monthly stipend for students traveling to Europe, EUR 800-900 depending on the host country, as well as reimbursement of travel expenses depending on the distance between the sending and receiving universities.
3) Conditions
Students, students, masters and doctoral students can participate in mobility. To participate in the program, it is necessary to study at a higher educational institution of the Republic of Kazakhstan that has a bilateral agreement with the university of the Program country on cooperation within the framework of Erasmus+. The period of study at a foreign university must correspond to the specialty and educational program at the sending university. You must pass the competitive selection according to the criteria developed by the partner universities.

Orhun Exchange Program is a student and faculty exchange initiative developed under protocols signed among member universities of the Union of Turkic Universities, coordinated by the Organization of Turkic States. The program is implemented with three main objectives:
- To reduce differences in skills and competencies among higher education institutions in member and observer countries of the Organization of Turkic States.
- To foster collaboration and a culture of cooperation among students and academic staff working in higher education institutions of member and observer countries.
- To enable participants to experience the cultural richness of Turkic countries firsthand and to develop a shared understanding of common cultural heritage.
Student Mobility
Students enrolled in official academic programs at member universities can participate in the exchange.
Duration: One semester or one academic year.
Program Benefits:
- The sending university covers travel expenses (departure and return).
- The host university provides accommodation and three meals per day.
- Students continue to receive any existing scholarships or pay tuition fees as usual during the exchange period.
- The list of eligible academic disciplines may vary annually based on demand.

Faculty Mobility
All faculty members from universities that have signed the exchange memorandum can participate in academic mobility.
Duration: 1 to 2 weeks
Requirements:
- Faculty must engage in academic activities for no less than 6 hours per week.
- Activities may include seminars, discussions, roundtables, or conferences.
- Non-academic activities are not covered under the program.
- A language proficiency certificate is required.
Internal (Intrakazakhstan) academic mobility is a moving trained, teachers-researchers or carrying out of researches for the certain academic period: a semester, or academic year in other higher educational institution of Kazakhstan with obligatory reoffset of the mastered educational programs in a category of credit in the high school or for study continuation in other high school.
Internal academic mobility of the trained is realized according to the order confirmed by the order of the Minister of Education and Science of Republic Kazakhstan from April, 20th, 2011 №152.
Mevlana Exchange Program is an initiative that facilitates mutual exchange of students and academic staff among higher education institutions in the Republic of Türkiye. Through this program, students can study for a minimum of one semester and a maximum of two semesters, while academic staff can teach at Turkish universities for a minimum of 2 weeks and up to 3 months.
1) International Academic Mobility
Short-term study or internship in Europe, with academic credits transferred upon return.
Duration:
From 3 to 12 months.
2) Financial Support
Students traveling to Europe receive a monthly stipend ranging from €800 to €900 depending on the host country, as well as reimbursement for travel expenses based on the distance between the sending and host universities.
3) Eligibility Requirements
Faculty members, undergraduate and graduate students, and doctoral candidates can participate in the mobility program.
To be eligible, you must be enrolled at a Kazakhstani university that has a bilateral agreement with a university in a Programme Country under Erasmus+.
The study period abroad must align with your major and academic program at your home university.
You must pass a competitive selection process based on criteria set by the partner universities.

"One Semester Abroad" Program by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan
General Information:
The academic mobility program of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan allows students to study at foreign higher education institutions for one semester. The ministry’s grant covers round-trip travel expenses, accommodation for up to 120 days, medical insurance, and visa costs.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Undergraduate students in their 2nd to 4th year (both state-funded and self-funded students may apply)
- Must be a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan
- Must have high academic performance (minimum GPA of 3.5)
- Must be proficient in a foreign language, confirmed by a certificate (minimum level: upper-intermediate)
- Must pass a competitive selection process

External academic mobility refers to the temporary transfer of students and academic researchers to a foreign higher education institution for a defined academic period (semester or academic year), either to continue their credit-based academic program or to conduct research. Upon return, credits must be officially transferred to the home institution.
Objectives of Academic Mobility:
- To enhance the quality of education and the effectiveness of scientific research
- To establish internal and external integration links and utilize global educational resources
- To strengthen the status of Ahmet Yassawi University in the education market
Academic mobility allows students to continue their studies at another university for a semester or academic year, with mandatory credit transfer. It also includes research stays ranging from 10 days to one academic year.
This program is implemented in accordance with the rules approved by the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan on January 1, 2019, Order No. 1 (amendments to Order No. 613 dated November 19, 2008), titled “Rules for Sending Students Abroad, Including Within the Framework of Academic Mobility.”
Forms of Academic Mobility:
- Within the framework of intergovernmental agreements
- Through state-funded programs, based on Order No. 613 dated November 19, 2008 (registered under No. 5499 in the State Register of Regulatory Legal Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan)
- Under contracts, agreements, grants, and projects
- Based on official invitations from educational or scientific organizations
- Through participants’ personal financial resources
The specific forms and types of academic mobility are regulated by agreements between partner universities, Kazakhstani and international organizations, and foundations.
During the summer term at Ahmet Yassawi University, the number of credits earned must not exceed 20% of the total credits defined in the student’s individual study plan.
