Faculty Overview
The Faculty of Arts was established in 2004. Since its foundation, the faculty has made a significant contribution to strengthening the university’s reputation in the field of arts and training highly qualified specialists in this area in Kazakhstan. In its activities, the faculty pays special attention to the development of high-quality education and research work. Along with theoretical knowledge, students gain extensive practical skills.
Since 2025, the faculty structure has been transformed into the Faculty of Arts, Media and Design.
Structure and Educational Programs
The faculty consists of three departments.
Starting from the 2025–2026 academic year, the faculty was officially renamed the Faculty of Arts, Media and Design. The Dean of the Faculty is Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Acting Associate Professor Darkhan Nurzhanovich Yelzhanov.
The faculty includes the following three departments:
- Department of Performing Arts — headed by Honored Worker of Culture of Kazakhstan, Senior Lecturer U. Kuletova;
- Department of Journalism — headed by Candidate of Philological Sciences, Senior Lecturer B. Bayeshova;
- Department of Fine Arts — headed by PhD, Acting Associate Professor G. Masadikova.

The total number of students enrolled at the faculty is 574.

The faculty’s academic staff consists of 57 highly qualified specialists.
Material and Technical Resources
The Faculty of Arts, Media and Design is fully equipped with modern educational and creative infrastructure that supports the comprehensive professional development of students. The educational process is organized in four buildings equipped with specialized classrooms and modern facilities. The faculty provides all necessary conditions for high-quality academic and practical training.
The faculty facilities include:
- ICT Hall named after People’s Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor R. Seitmetov;
- Traditional Singing Workshop named after People’s Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bekbosyn Kazhybek;
- Vocal Workshop named after People’s Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Professor Rakhima Zhubaturova;
- Makeup Workshop;
- Studio;
- Radio Studio;
- Television Studio;
- Photo Studio;
- Design Gallery.
This infrastructure provides students with broad opportunities to combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience and improve their professional skills.
