The research areas of the Scientific Research Institute of Turkology are focused on the comprehensive study of the language and literature of Turkic peoples, their history and culture, archaeological and written heritage, ethnography, and folklore. In its academic activities, the Institute considers Turkology, philology, history, archaeology, and cultural studies in close interrelation, placing particular emphasis on the scholarly investigation of the historical and spiritual heritage of Turkic civilization.
Within the framework of the Institute’s activities, research is conducted on the formation and development of Turkic languages, literary heritage and folklore, ancient and medieval Turkic written monuments, historical and cultural relations, ethnographic values, and religious-spiritual worldview. In addition, archaeological excavations and interdisciplinary studies contribute to the introduction of ancient cities, monuments of material culture, ancient manuscripts, and rare archival collections into academic circulation.
The Institute’s research activities are aimed at developing international scientific cooperation, improving the theoretical and methodological foundations of Turkology, and preserving and promoting the shared cultural heritage of Turkic peoples. For this purpose, international congresses, scientific conferences, and seminars are organized, and joint research projects with domestic and foreign scholars are carried out.
