History and General Information

The Department of Foreign Languages Teaching  was founded in September 1991 as the Department of English. At first, 4 teachers worked at the Department. Within five years, the number of teaching staff reached 30.

In connection with the opening of the specialty 021500 – "English language and literature" in the academic year of 1995-1996, the department was divided into the Department of English Philology  and  English Language.  Candidate of philological sciences, associate professor T. Baimakhan was appointed as the head of the English Philology Department..

In the 2020-2021 academic year, the Department of English Philology was divided into the Departments of Foreign Languages Teaching and English Philology and Translation Studies  in the direction of training in accordance with the educational field of the specialties prepared by the Department.Since 2020, PhD, Assistant professor Meruyert Seitova has been the head of the Department.
