The Laboratory of Plant Physiology, Phytopathology and Biotechnology

The Laboratory of Plant Physiology, Phytopathology and Biotechnology was established in 2026 as a structural unit pursuant to Order No. 1/951 dated 14 July 2026.

The laboratory’s main research areas include plant physiology, phytopathology, phytosanitary monitoring, molecular diagnostics, plant biotechnology, detection of plant diseases and phytopathogens, and the study of plant resistance to various stress factors.

Currently, the laboratory carries out research on the physiological and phytosanitary condition of plants in the botanical garden collections. It also works on diagnosing plant diseases by morphological, microscopic and molecular methods, detecting phytopathogens, conducting PCR and qPCR studies, and identifying plant species and varieties. One of the laboratory’s key tasks is to study plant resistance to stress factors and to evaluate the effectiveness of plant protection products. In addition, the laboratory supports the implementation of scientific projects and the organization of students’ research work.

The laboratory is not currently accredited. Accreditation is planned for the future.

Information on the number of patents held by the laboratory is being clarified.

The laboratory conducts research in the following areas: studying the physiological condition, phytosanitary status and phytopathogens of plants; detecting plant diseases through molecular diagnostics; molecular identification of plant species and varieties; assessing plant resistance to stress factors; and studying the effectiveness of plant protection products and biological preparations. The titles of specific research projects and their funding sources will be clarified separately.

Since the laboratory was established as a structural unit in 2026, information on completed projects will be clarified on the basis of internal records.

Head of the laboratory: Absatarova Damira Amirovna. The specific academic degrees and titles of staff members will be clarified on the basis of the staffing table and personnel records.
