During the holy month of Ramadan, a traditional iftar dinner was organized at our University for the academic community. The благоприятное event was attended by Muhittin Simsek, Member of the Board of Trustees; Hafiz Osman Sahin, Deputy Chairman of the Presidency of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Turkey; Levent Gurcan, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Turkestan; representatives of the Religious Affairs Administration of Kazakhstan; representatives of TRT; Rector Zhanar Temirbekova; Rector’s Representative Naci Genc; faculty members; staff; and students.
During the iftar, the adhan (call to prayer) was recited, after which the participants performed the prayer together and broke their fast.
The sponsors of today’s iftar were the Presidency of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye and the Turkish Diyanet Foundation.
It is worth noting that every year a number of citizens and organizations of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Turkey provide support, thanks to which free iftars are organized at the University throughout the entire month of Ramadan.
One of the highlights of the evening was the performance of the traditional zharapazan chant by students of the Faculty of Arts, Design and Media. The performance, reviving a national tradition, was warmly received by the participants and gave the event a special spiritual atmosphere.
This good tradition during the month of Ramadan will continue in the future with the support of other sponsors.
