THE “WHITE SCARF” CAMPAIGN WAS ORGANIZED ON FAMILY DAY

As part of the first ten days of Nauryz celebrations, on March 17 — “Shanyrak” Day — the “White Scarf” campaign was held at the “House of Friendship.

The event was jointly organized by our university, the Turkistan Regional Department of Public Development “Public Accord” KMM, the Turkistan City “Family Support Center,” the “Active Longevity” KMM, and the Mothers’ Council under the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.

During the event, the symbolic significance of the white scarf was highlighted, and a ceremony was held to present white scarves to young brides. The newlyweds greeted the elders and received their blessings. Notably, some of the newlyweds were student couples from our university.

The moderator of the event was Gulsara Tokkulova, Head of the Center for Support of Special Education, Professor at our university, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, and Chair of the Mothers’ Council under the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan in Turkistan Region. She said: “Dear mothers wearing white scarves, honored guests, welcome! Today’s gathering carries profound meaning. The white scarf is a sacred symbol, and we organized this event so that future generations will understand and respect its significance.”

The audience enjoyed a performance illustrating the tradition of the “Shylyauysh scarf,” and the song “My Mother’s White Scarf” was performed.

The 2025 winner of the “Golden Shanyrak” competition, Rysty Rayymkulova, also addressed the gathering.

Following this, the authors of the song “White Scarf” presented their work, performing with guitar accompaniment and receiving warm applause from the audience.

Talented students Aksana Kuanishbek and Araylym Duisebay performed the song “Beloved Mother” accompanied by the dombra.

It is worth noting that during the spiritual gathering, specialists from the Youth Policy Department honored the wise elder Shora Ismoldaev on behalf of the university by draping a ceremonial robe over his shoulders.

As part of the program, members of the “Active Longevity Center” presented a “White Scarf” fashion show.

Psychologist Gulmira Issaeva from the Turkistan City “Family Support Center” KMM conducted a master class titled “Preserving the Shanyrak — Preserving Your Descendants.”

On stage, the song “Black Shanyrak,” celebrating the treasured values of each family, touched the hearts of the audience.

The grandmothers’ ensemble performed the song “Young Newlyweds,” delighting the audience.

At the conclusion of the event, participants received “Nauryz Bazaar” gift packages, and on behalf of the university, bouquets were presented to the mothers wearing white scarves.
