The III International Congress of Geographers of the Turkic World, taking place from March 25 to 27, 2026, at Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute, has commenced its work at a high level.

A delegation from our university, led by its senior leadership, is participating in this international forum. The delegation includes Chairman of the Board of Trustees Muhittin Simsek, Rector Zhanar Temirbekova, Vice-Rector Mustafa Giritlioglu, as well as members of the academic staff.

It is worth noting that the first congress of this international forum, which brings together geographers of the Turkic world, was organized at our university, while the second congress was successfully held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Thus, this traditional scientific gathering continues this year in the city of Bukhara.

This international scientific event serves as an important platform for discussing pressing issues in geography, strengthening cooperation within the scientific community, and exchanging experience. The congress has brought together leaders of leading universities from the Turkic world and nearly one hundred scholars, who are exchanging views on key contemporary topics such as sustainable development, global climate change, environmental challenges, and the efficient use of natural resources.

Within the framework of the forum, scientific discussions are being held, with participants presenting the results of their research. This, in turn, contributes to a comprehensive consideration of current issues in geography and the development of joint solutions.

The congress has become an effective platform for dialogue, promoting the exchange of experience and the expansion of international cooperation. This gathering of geographers from the Turkic world unites scholars from brotherly countries and opens new opportunities for discussing shared geographical, environmental, and tourism-related challenges.

As part of the event, a wide range of issues—including sustainable development, climate change, environmental safety, rational use of natural resources, and regional development—are being thoroughly examined. Concrete proposals are being developed to advance scientific research, introduce innovative approaches in education, and strengthen international academic ties.

This congress holds significant importance as an international platform that enhances collaboration within the scientific community and provides momentum for the implementation of new joint research projects.
