“A MEETING WITH THE NATIONAL THEATRE TROUPE OF THE CAPITAL WAS HELD AT OUR UNIVERSITY”
A meeting with actors of the Kazakh National Musical Drama Theatre named after Kalibek Kuanyshbayev was held at our university. Talented performers of the theatre—Akmarał Tanabayeva, Bazil Sultangazy, Beibarys Orman, Sultan Tursynbekov, and Bekarys Shalkar—took part in the event and engaged in an open-format discussion with students.
The moderator of the event was Maksat Aitzhanov, a laureate of national and international competitions and an Honored Cultural Figure of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, the actors spoke in depth about the essence of theatrical art, the discipline it instills in performers, as well as its rich heritage and practical significance. They also shared memories of their student years and their first experiences on stage as young actors.
In his speech, Vice-Rector for Social and Cultural Development Yedil Tolegenov welcomed the guests and noted: “Dear guests, welcome! Our university has nearly 10,000 students, more than 1,000 of whom come from neighboring countries. Since Turkistan became a regional center in 2018, our students have gained new opportunities. One of them is the chance to meet renowned scholars, distinguished educators, and masters of the arts. Theatre is a vast and unique world, where the audience experiences live art and genuine emotions. Therefore, young people should strive not for superficial entertainment, but for meaningful and profound art.”
During the meeting, students asked questions that interested them and listened to stories about the rewarding yet challenging path of an actor’s career.
At the end of the event, Vice-Rector Yedil Tolegenov expressed his gratitude to the distinguished guests and presented them with special gifts.
