“DIGITAL LAW HACKATHON 2026” NATIONAL HACKATHON HELD
Our university hosted the national hackathon “Digital Law Hackathon 2026.” The event was jointly organized by the Faculty of Law and the Commercialization Office.
The main goal of the hackathon was to support initiatives aimed at ensuring digital security—as reflected in the new Constitution—and strengthening the principles of law and order.
In addition, the hackathon aimed to identify talented students, enhance the professional skills of future specialists in digital law and cybersecurity, and foster teams capable of proposing innovative solutions for preventing and investigating cybercrimes.
Opening the event, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Elmira Idrissova stated:
“Dear colleagues, dear students, and distinguished guests! Welcome to Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University! Today’s event is a timely initiative driven by current market demands. As digital development advances, it also brings new risks and challenges. In this context, innovative ideas in the legal field are becoming increasingly important.
This hackathon serves as a unique platform where young people can present new ideas, grow professionally in the legal field, and combine knowledge with fresh initiatives. I am confident that you will not only strengthen your knowledge here but also showcase your creativity through practical projects. I wish you all success—may the best team win!”
Next, Dean of the Faculty of Law Aliya Kassymbek noted: “Today, for the first time in our country, we are holding a digital law hackathon. One of the key reasons for organizing this event is the inclusion of provisions on digital security in the new Constitution, adopted through the nationwide referendum on March 15. Our goal is to promote and explain these constitutional norms to the public, especially among future legal professionals.
I wish all participants the best of luck. May the most deserving team win!”
It is worth noting that more than 10 teams from Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, Turkistan, Kyzylorda, and Taraz took part in the competition.
The hackathon focused on areas such as digital crime, combating online fraud, and the legal use of digital evidence.
According to the results, first place was awarded to the “Senim.kz” team from Miras University and our university’s “Themis” team. Second place went to the “Korkyt Sakhshylary” team from Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University and the “ENU Zhastary” team from L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.
