An open lesson entitled “Innovation and Language: A Force Uniting Turkic Youth” was held at the Kentau Campus of our university, organized by the Department of Kazakh and Russian Languages.

The purpose of the open lesson was to introduce modern teaching methods aimed at developing students’ language skills based on the electronic textbook “Kazakh as a Cognate Language.”

The event was attended by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Elmira Idrissova, as well as faculty members, staff, and students of the Preparatory Center.

It should be noted that the electronic textbook “Kazakh as a Cognate Language” is an original work authored by the instructors of the Department of Kazakh and Russian Languages of the university’s Preparatory Center.

In addition to language instruction, the textbook, developed in a modern format, widely incorporates national values, culture, and spiritual heritage. Furthermore, through video materials and interactive assignments, it aims to comprehensively develop learners’ language competence.

Students from across the Turkic world who are currently studying at the university participated in the event, speaking fluently in Kazakh and confidently expressing their thoughts. The open lesson demonstrated practical approaches to language learning and placed particular emphasis on developing students’ communicative skills.

During the lesson, various tasks related to the four language skills — reading, listening, writing, and speaking — were completed, and role-playing activities were organized. Staged performances and practical exercises also demonstrated that language is not merely theoretical knowledge, but a real means of communication.

By combining language and innovation, the event became a meaningful platform aimed at strengthening spiritual and cultural ties among Turkic youth.
