The Rector of our University, Zhanar Temirbekova, paid an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan. During her visit, she attended the closing ceremony of the Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud International Language Teaching Program for Arabic in Central Asia and the Caucasus, organized by the ICESCO Regional Office in Baku.
The event was jointly organized by the ICESCO Regional Office in Baku, the Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Foundation, and Baku Eurasian University.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Abdulhakim Fahad Al-Senan, Director of the ICESCO Regional Office in Baku; Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, Director General of the Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Foundation; Majdi bin Haji Ibrahim; and Farrukh Jumayev, Head of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Secretary General of the National Commission of Azerbaijan for ICESCO. The distinguished guests delivered welcoming remarks.
During the event, participants reviewed the outcomes of the program and emphasized its contribution to strengthening educational cooperation across the region.
As part of this initiative, in November 2025, our University, in cooperation with ICESCO, organized the international seminar “Innovative Methods of Teaching the Arabic Language” within the framework of the Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud International Language Training Project. The seminar focused on modern approaches to Arabic language teaching and provided a platform for educators to exchange professional experience. The project contributed to strengthening the University's international academic partnerships and enhancing the professional competencies of its teaching staff.
During the visit, Rector Zhanar Temirbekova also met with ICESCO representatives to discuss joint initiatives dedicated to Turkistan’s designation as the Cultural Capital of the Islamic World in 2027.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, Rector Zhanar Temirbekova presented traditional Kazakh chapan robes to Dr. Abdulhakim Fahad Al-Senan, Director of the ICESCO Regional Office in Baku, and to the Head of the Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Foundation. The parties also exchanged commemorative gifts as a symbol of friendship and continued cooperation.
