Nurdaulet Baktybayuly, a first-year student at our University, won a silver medal in Qazaq Kuresi at the 6th World Nomad Games currently taking place in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The young wrestler represented Kazakhstan in the under-82 kg weight category and secured a place on the podium at this prestigious competition.
The 6th World Nomad Games are being held in the Kyrgyz Republic from 31 August to 6 September. This year, athletes from more than 100 countries are competing in various traditional sports.
The Qazaq Kuresi competitions were held at the Cholpon-Ata Sports Complex in the Issyk-Kul Region.
Nurdaulet Baktybayuly is one of the athletes representing Kazakhstan in Qazaq Kuresi on the international stage. In 2025, he became the champion in the 82 kg weight category at the Qazaq Kuresi World Cup held in Turkistan.
