Mustafa Çiftçi, Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Türkiye, and his wife, Azime Çiftçi, paid a special visit to our university.
Minister Mustafa Çiftçi was in Kazakhstan on a working visit to attend the Third Meeting of the Ministers of the Interior of the Organization of Turkic States, held in Astana on 10 September. The meeting focused on ensuring common security and strengthening cooperation among Turkic states. Participants exchanged views on pressing issues, including combating transnational organized crime, terrorism and drug trafficking, as well as addressing irregular migration and gambling.
The distinguished guests were welcomed by Rector Zhanar Temirbekova, Rector’s Representative Peyami Battal, Vice-Rectors and university staff.
The guests first visited the Panoramic Museum of the History of Turkic Peoples at the Cultural Center, where they learned about the shared history of the Kazakh people and the wider Turkic world.
Asylzhan Yesimkhan, a talented representative of the Faculty of Arts, Media and Design, performed a poetic tribute in Turkish for the guests. Balnur Kairatkyzy, a young poet who enrolled at the university this year, also showcased her talent with verses dedicated to the visitors. The guests expressed their admiration for the Kazakh tradition of improvised poetry and applauded the performances.
Rector Zhanar Temirbekova then gave a comprehensive presentation on the university, highlighting its educational programs and research achievements. She also spoke about its rich history, current activities and future plans, emphasizing its significance as one of the first joint educational initiatives between Türkiye and Kazakhstan.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Rector presented gifts to Minister Mustafa Çiftçi and his wife, Azime Çiftçi, on behalf of the university. The Minister and his wife, in turn, expressed their gratitude to the university community for the warm welcome and generous hospitality.
