OUR STUDENTS WIN PRIZES AT AN INTERNATIONAL SPACE TECHNOLOGY COMPETITION

Students of the Faculty of Natural Sciences became prize winners at the International CanSat Competition held in Uzbekistan.
From 16 to 21 October, the “5th International Model Satellite (CanSat) Training Workshop and Aerospace Symposium” was jointly organised by ICESCO, the Agency of Space Research and Technology of Uzbekistan, and Turin Polytechnic University.
The international programme brought together nearly 250 participants from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Oman, Gabon and other countries. Among them were scientists and experts in the field of space technology.
Students of the Department of Physics Maksat Saidazim, Bekarys Toleutayev and Bakbergen Shukirbay, together with Zhaksylyk Nurkozha, a doctoral student in the Physics educational programme, took second place in the competition. The team’s academic supervisors were Sherzod Ramankulov and Serik Polatuly, PhD, Associate Professors.
Competing against teams from several countries, our students demonstrated the university’s scientific and engineering potential and achieved an outstanding result.
During the competition, participants demonstrated their knowledge and practical skills in designing small CanSat satellite models, assembling electronic components, programming microcontrollers, processing sensor data and applying engineering solutions in practice.
We congratulate our students on this remarkable achievement and wish them every success in their scientific endeavours!
