UNIVERSITY STUDENTS BECAME PRIZE WINNERS
The “AYU STEM Innovators” student team from the Department of Physics of our university won third place at the international intellectual competition on engineering thinking “Pi-Synergy 2026 – International Engineering Mindsets Competition,” dedicated to International Pi Day.
A total of 29 student teams from 14 universities across Central Asian countries took part in the competition and competed with each other. According to the results of the contest, the university team was awarded special certificates and diplomas.
The “AYU STEM Innovators” team consists of first-year students studying at the Department of Physics of our university. The team members are Bekarys Toleutayev, Nurassyl Zharmakhan, and Maksat Saydazim.
The team supervisor is Sherzod Ramankulov.
It should be noted that the team members are young researchers participating in scientific grant projects funded by the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the international competition, the university students presented their scientific project titled “Smart Engineering: Development of Industrial Technologies through Artificial Intelligence and STEM.” They demonstrated a high level of engineering thinking, innovative problem-solving skills, and teamwork culture.
This achievement clearly reflects the effectiveness of STEM-oriented education and scientific projects implemented at our university, as well as the systematic development of students’ research and engineering competencies.
