At our educational institution, an exhibition titled “The Creativity and Art of Shara Zhienkulova” was organized by the Department of Performing Arts of the Faculty of Arts, Media, and Design.
The purpose of the event was to introduce the life and artistic legacy of Shara Zhienkulova — a People’s Artist of the USSR and Kazakhstan, a shining star of Kazakh culture, and a legendary figure in Kazakh dance art — as well as to increase interest in national dance and promote the values of Kazakh culture among the younger generation.
As part of the exhibition, a special masterclass was conducted for students by Arman Nurmakhamatuly, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, recipient of the Culture Excellence Award of the Kyrgyz Republic, laureate of the First President of Kazakhstan Foundation Prize, Master of Arts, PhD, and MBA holder, together with Serik Sariyev, recipient of the Order of Honor and distinguished figure in Kazakhstan’s cultural sphere.
During the meeting, students were provided with detailed information about Shara Zhienkulova’s artistic journey and her significant contribution to the development of Kazakh dance art.
In addition, upon the initiative of Serik Sariyev, the exhibition featured special costume designs created by designers from Astana, Aktau, and Atyrau, inspired by Shara Zhienkulova’s stage images.
At the end of the event, the university’s Vice-Rector for Social and Cultural Development, Yedil Tolegenov, noted the high level of the educational meeting and expressed special gratitude to the guests.
The distinguished guests were also presented with letters of appreciation and special gifts.
